The NSS unit of Marian College along with Bridge Social Innovations is conducting a program in the college. Bridge social innovations is a social enterprise that gives vocational training to people with mental disability and looks after the marketing of products made by such people. Their effort is to make the persons with disability self-reliant. They also ensure that the products made are meeting market standards.
Volunteers from Bridge Social Innovations will be conducting a program in the college where they will talk about the work that they are doing to empower people with mental disability. They will also introduce Educraft, which is the brand of notebooks produced by persons with disability and their parents at Mithram Employability Centre at Ernakulam. The program will be conducted in front of the administrative block at 3.20 p.m. tomorrow (Wednesday 6th January). All students are invited to attend the program. The students will also have the opportunity to purchase books if they wish. The cost of the books is Rs. 35 for 160 pages and Rs. 40 for 180 pages. The support that we give to this project will ensure the sustainability of the project ensuring that it provides a stable and healthy income to the people with disability.
